Jannah G

As a child, Jannah grew up singing hymns and playing bells in the church choir while developing a love for music. She began to pick up the fundamentals of music through church music, Disney, classic rock, 80s/90s and funk music from her father, Tim. Growing up in her teen years, Jannah took piano lessons, and learned the art of voice from her mother Stacey. In a musical household, Jannah was immersed into the world of art, theatre and dance. Jannah took dance lessons with Flint's Young People's Ballet Theater in Flint, MI under the direction of Denise Paavola. Jannah discovered her love for the stage while singing on stage at a middle school talent show. 

Jannah is an alumni of the Fenton Fine Arts Program. From 2007-2011 she danced, belted electrifying vocals and won gold in the show choir "The Ambassadors" under the direction of Brad Wright. Jannah also was drum major of the Fenton High School marching band "The Fenton Marching Tigers" and became section leader of the Symphony/Wind ensembles with director and composer, Andrew Perkins. After graduating high school, she earned a job teaching at the local music studio, A Joyful Noise Music Studio in Fenton, MI.

From 2012-2015 Jannah toured the United States with the Rochester College a Cappella Chorus under the direction of Dr. Joe Bentley. Jannah graduated summa cum laude in 2015 from Rochester College with a Bachelor of Science in Music Performance. Jannah received classical voice training with Queen's College Instructor Mary Irvine and interned with UnCovered Theater Company from 2016-2018. By 2018, Jannah G completed a Bachelors in Music and went on to complete her Masters of Music in Teaching Artistry from Bowling Green State University.

Jannah has appeared in various community theatrical productions in southeast Michigan including Beauty and the Beast, Hairspray, Into the Woods, Seussical: the Musical, the Fantasticks, Little Women and UnCovered Theatre Company's production of Godspell. Jannah has music directed several productions including, A Tale of Two Cities, Urinetown: The Musical, The Wizard of Oz, You're a Good Man: Charlie Brown, Songs for a New World and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. 

As of 2019, Jannah prides herself as a certified ZUMBA Fitness Instructor (ZIN). She brings music, dance, fitness and fun to the City of Fenton via Southern Lakes Parks and Recreation. 

In 2020, Jannah was a featured vocalist in the pop group "BANDJ" under the direction of D. DoRohn Gough, who has produced albums for hit artists such as Ne-Yo and Janet Jackson 

Jannah was featured as an AMPLIFY THE SOUND OF DETROIT'S 2023 Top 10 finalist and performed "Dancing in the Street" at the Gem Theatre in partnership with Hitsville NXT and the iconic Motown Museum in Detroit, Michigan. 

Jannah has released an original R&B pop holiday demo produced by Darell "RED" Campbell titled, "It's Christmas Baby" in the Winter of 2024, available to stream on YouTube. 

As a finalist, JANNAH G will take the stage at the 2026 Ford Fireworks, broadcast live on Channel 4 (ClickonDetroit). On Monday, June 22, at 8:00PM EST, Jannah will be bringing her signature sound to one of Detroit's premier annual events. 

Jannah instructed students of all ages at A Joyful Noise Music Studio in Fenton, Michigan from 2011-2025.  Jannah is currently the contemporary worship director and leads Saturday worship at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Birmingham, Michigan. She also leads worship with the choir and band members at Northbrook Presbyterian Church in Beverly Hills. 

When she's not teaching, gigging or worshiping with her amazing worship bands on the weekends, you can find her running the office at St. John's Episcopal Church and Open Hands Food Pantry in Royal Oak, MI.

Jannah is currently working on her debut solo album, "BLUE EYED SOUL SISTER"
